Easing into Academics
At this age, many children begin to learn concepts like size and weight, use two-word phrases to communicate, and experience big emotions. They are at the beginning of their pre-academic phase, since most children begin preschool at 2 years old. This is a great time to practice self-regulation, concentration, and introduce pre-literacy and pre-numeracy.
Your child may begin to sort colors and shapes, which is an important part of developing pre-match skills.
Your child should have around twenty words in their expressive vocabulary.
At this age, your child will likely engage in different kinds of dramatic play, such as pretending to be a chef.
Your child should be able to hold a Crayon or marker and scribble on a sheet of paper.
